Instead of manually reviewing hundreds of responses, you get structured summaries and visualizations for every question you asked. Quantitative Data Extraction: Conveo’s AI can create charts and graphs not just from structured questions (like multiple choice), but also from open-ended responses. For example, if you ask “What’s your coffee personality?” the AI will categorize responses and create visual charts showing the distribution. Interactive Charts: Every chart is clickable and drillable - you can see the actual participant quotes behind each data point and even jump to the exact moment in the interview where something was mentioned.

Pro Tips

  • Double-click chart bars to instantly see all the participant quotes that support that data point - this gives you the qualitative evidence behind your quantitative insights.
  • Use the “View” button strategically - when you click on a participant quote, the “View” button takes you to the exact timestamp in their interview where they said it, perfect for creating highlight reels.
  • Export data efficiently - instead of using export buttons, simply select the data cells in the detailed chart view and use Ctrl+C to copy directly into Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Heart charts as you go - use the heart icon to favorite useful charts during your analysis. This creates a curated collection in your favorites section for easy access during report writing.

Step 1: Access Question Analysis

Navigate to the “Insights” section in your left sidebar and click on “Question Analysis.” This opens the main analysis dashboard for your study.

Step 2: Review Panel Data

At the top of the page, you’ll see panel data showing demographic information about your participants:
  • Age distribution
  • Country breakdown
  • Gender split
  • Responses to all screening questions
This gives you context about who participated before diving into their responses.

Step 3: Explore Question-by-Question Summaries

Scroll down to see AI-generated summaries for each question in your topic guide. Each summary:
  • Highlights key themes and insights from all participant responses
  • Identifies patterns and common responses
  • Provides context about what participants emphasized most

Step 4: Analyze Interactive Charts

For each question, you’ll see charts that visualize response patterns: To explore chart data:
  1. Double-click on any bar to see detailed breakdowns
  2. Click individual bars to highlight specific segments
  3. Use “View Messages” to see all participant quotes for that category
  4. Click “View” next to any quote to jump to that moment in the interview
To customize charts:
  1. Double-click the chart title to enter detailed editing mode
  2. Use the three-dot menu for quick options (duplicate, hide, percentage view)
  3. In detailed mode, adjust chart types and styling
  4. Modify the TQL (query language) settings on the right panel

Step 5: Apply Filters for Segmentation

Use filters to analyze specific participant groups:
  1. Click “Add Filter” at the top of the page
  2. Select your filter criteria (demographics, screening responses, etc.)
  3. The charts update to show filtered vs. unfiltered comparisons
  4. Click “Save” to regenerate question summaries for your filtered segment
